Star Mosque (Tara Mosque)
Star Mosque is situated in Armonitola at Dhaka. The Mosque is also known as Tara Masjid the Mosque was built by Mirza Golam Pir in late 18th century. Later on, a merchant named Ali Jan Bepari reconstructed and remodeled the Mosque. He added a new verandah on the east of the Mosque. Ali Jan in order to enhance the inner and outer beauty used imported foreign-made decorated China clay tiles. In 1987 two new domes were raised on the northern side of the Mosque. Now the Mosque has five-domed structure.
